Maite Perroni is officially returning to the big screen. The Mexican actress, singer, producer and entrepreneur will star in ‘Belleza’, a new drama-comedy directed by Nadia Ayala Tabachnik. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Fernanda Castillo, Claudette Maillé, Diego Klein and Arap Bethke.
Fresh off completing production in Colombia, ‘Belleza’ has secured international distribution through Lionsgate Worldwide Television Distribution Group and Miércoles Entertainment under a newly announced agreement. In Mexico, the film will be released theatrically by Cinépolis Distribución, with a premiere expected in 2027.
‘Belleza’ tells an intimate and deeply human story that explores themes of identity, self-acceptance and society’s beauty standards through a heartfelt and emotional narrative.
For Perroni, the project marks another major milestone in a career that has spanned more than two decades, establishing her as one of Latin America’s most successful and recognizable entertainment figures.
While she continues to support her husband, television producer Andrés Tovar, during his ongoing legal dispute with Imagen Televisión, Perroni remains focused on her professional projects and is looking ahead to what she hopes will be one of the highlights of her career.
A CAREER THAT CONTINUES TO EVOLVE
Perroni first rose to international fame with the global phenomenon ‘Rebelde’, before becoming one of Mexico’s leading television stars through hit telenovelas including ‘Cuidado con el Ángel’, ‘Mi Pecado’, ‘Triunfo del Amor’, ‘La Gata’ and ‘Antes Muerta que Lichita’.
In recent years, she successfully transitioned into streaming, starring in Netflix’s ‘Dark Desire’, one of the platform’s most-watched Spanish-language series, as well as ‘Triada’, ‘The Game of Keys’ and ‘Herederos por Accidente’.
Her film credits also include ‘Dibujando el Cielo’, ‘Doblemente Embarazada’, ‘Without You I Can’t’ (Sin Ti No Puedo) and ‘El Roomie’, further cementing her status as one of Mexico’s most internationally recognized actresses.
With ‘Belleza’, Perroni adds another significant project to her growing film career while expanding her global reach through Lionsgate, one of Hollywood’s leading studios. The film is expected to introduce her work to an even broader international audience when it premieres in 2027.
